Chiswick House

On the death of his father in 1811, the Marquess of Hartington inherited a new title, 6th Duke of Devonshire. With it came Chiswick House and seven other piles, including Hardwick Hall, Burlington House (current home of the Royal Academy of Arts), Lismore Castle and Bolton Abbey. Chiswick House is now owned by English Heritage.
